I had planned to write a post about discipline – the discipline of writing, exercising, keeping the house clean, and so on and so forth. Last week I thought I had to do it all and I went from [5:50] every morning until [9:00] or [9:30] at night. For some of you, that’s not a problem. I admire you. But for someone with fibromyalgia, it’s too much. I wasn’t taking the time to rest and take care of myself. I started feeling a fair amount of pain and fatigue on Thursday. By Friday night, I couldn’t go on. I think only my big toe on my left foot didn’t hurt LOL!
So, this post has changed. I’m still disciplining myself by turning off the internet so I can write. I’m taking the time to rest, though, too. I worked on painting the kitchen a little bit on Saturday, but the weather was so beautiful, I also took some time to work in the yard and put out my straw, pumpkin and mum display, as well as twining leaf garland around the porch pillars. That’s something a enjoy doing. Doug and I had a nice, relaxing date on Saturday night. After dinner on Sunday, I curled up on the porch swing and read.
My friend always says, “Everything in moderation.” I think she’s a very wise woman. So, my word for this week is pacing – taking time for a little bit of everything, including rest. I took time for a nice lunch and enjoyed a walk with the dog today, in addition to writing and running errands. I’ll let you know how it goes!

You have my sympathy Liz, I know how that feels! Sometimes I feel so energetic that I go on a cleaning spree and totally overdo it – and then I know all about it the next day… I agree, everything in moderation 😉
Good luck with the writing!
